Cavern: the four tiers

How the Cavern's four tiers relate to the reagent chance, to the timer and to the pro rata result.

reviewed 8 August 2026

What it is

The Cavern has four difficulty tiers. The higher the tier, the higher the chance of the Rupture Reagent — and the harder the content.

How I do it

Before you startAccess to the incursion's Cavern the tier is chosen at the Cavern's entrance, not outside it.required

How to pick the tier and how the result is counted:

  1. Pick the tier at the entrancethere are four tiers; the one you pick sets the difficulty of the run.in gameCavern → tier selection
  2. Run against the tier's timereach tier has its own timer; when it closes, the run ends wherever you are.
  3. Count the result pro ratathe result is proportional to how far you got: stopping midway still counts the stretch you cleared.
  4. Move up a tier when the previous one closes with room to sparethe reagent chance rises with the tier, but a high tier only pays if you advance before the timer closes.
In development

What is missing: the Rupture Reagent chance in each of the four tiers and the timer of each tier.

What already holds: there are four tiers, the chance rises with the tier, and the result is pro rata for what was reached before the timer closed.

What I get — and what it costs

What I get
Higher chance per tiera higher tier raises the chance of the Rupture Reagent at the end of the run.each tier has its own timer, and whatever you do not reach before it closes does not enter the pro rata.
What it costs
The timer closes the runwhen the tier's time runs out, the run ends where it stands and the pro rata counts only the stretch reached. One tier per entrythe day's entry is a single one, so the tier you pick is the tier of the day.
