Rupture
What the ruptured form is, and how an esva takes it.
reviewed 8 August 2026
What it is
Rupture is a combat transformation: the Edge Case equips the Rupture Reagent in the apparatus slot and takes the ruptured form while it carries it. The ruptured form belongs to it alone; no other esva takes it. It exists to give the same esva a second combat form — it is not a new specimen and not an evolution stage.
How I do it
Before you startBeing an Edge Case Only an Edge Case ruptures. That is the single entry point into the ruptured form.requiredRupture Reagent in the collection The Cavern is the only source of the reagent. Without it, no esva ruptures.requiredFree apparatus slot The reagent takes the esva's single slot. If an apparatus is already there, remove it first.required
Step by step to put the ruptured form on and take it off:
- Take the reagent in the CavernThe Rupture Reagent comes from the Cavern and from nowhere else. It is generic: one reagent serves all 13 classes.in gameIncursion Map → Cavern
- Open the esva and check the slotIn the party, open the esva and look at the apparatus slot. It has to be free. Only an Edge Case ruptures.in gameParty → esva → Apparatus
- Equip the reagentPut the Rupture Reagent in the slot. The Edge Case takes the ruptured form at once and holds it while it carries the reagent.in gameParty → esva → Apparatus
- Remove it to go back to normalRemove the reagent and the Edge Case returns to its normal form. The reagent is not consumed: it stays available to use again, on that Edge Case or another.in gameParty → esva → Apparatus
What I get — and what it costs
What I get
Ruptured formThe same Edge Case fights in the ruptured form while it carries the reagent. The reagent is generic — one for every class — and is not consumed when equipped. It holds while the Rupture Reagent sits in the slot of an Edge Case. The reagent comes from the Cavern and from no other source.
What it costs
Only the Edge Case rupturesThe Rupture Reagent takes only on an Edge Case. The ruptured form belongs to it alone; no other esva takes it.You give up the apparatusThe slot is single. With the reagent in it, the esva carries no apparatus.A ruptured esva is not containedThe ruptured form is not a containment target. It does not enter as a new specimenRupturing creates no specimen and advances no stage: it is the same esva, with a second combat form.
