Stats

Explains an esva's six stats and what each one does in the exchange of moves.

reviewed 8 August 2026

What it is

The stats are the six values that decide the exchange of moves: HP, ATK, DEF, SP.ATK, SP.DEF and VEL. Each has its own IV and grows as the esva levels up.

How I do it

Read the six on the sheet, in this order:

  1. HPHow much the esva can take before it goes down. HP at zero, it leaves the fight.in gameParty → Esva sheet → Stats
  2. ATK and DEFATK is the force of the physical move it lands. DEF is what it absorbs from a physical move it takes.
  3. SP.ATK and SP.DEFSP.ATK is the force of the special move it lands. SP.DEF is what it absorbs from a special move it takes.
  4. VELDecides who strikes first in the turn: the esva with the higher VEL acts first.
  5. Cross the stat with the chosen moveBefore using one of the 4 moves, check whether it is physical or special: the physical one hits DEF, the special one hits SP.DEF.

What is missing: the formula that turns IV and level into each stat's final value

What already holds: what each of the six stats does in the exchange of moves

What I get — and what it costs

What I get
Stat readingKnowing which defence each move goes through and who acts first in the turn.Applies to any esva whose sheet is open.
What it costs
The labels are not translatedHP, ATK, DEF, SP.ATK, SP.DEF and VEL appear with the same spelling in every language of the game.A stat is not an IVThe stat is the value that goes into the field; the IV is the inborn talent behind it. Level moves the stat, not the IV.
